What would you sacrifice?
Midnight Meatball is a single player 3D physics simulation game where you play as a meatball named Olaf. In debt to the mafia who helped him pay for his wife's medical bills, he must steal furniture from his work to pay them off and save his child who is being held captive. Set within an "OKEA", plays must move furniture from the display rooms to the loading dock, earning money before times up and without being caught.
Producer
Midnight Meatball was developed during the Game Design postgraduate program at George Brown College. As a producer on the project, I helped to manage our large team while organizing workflows, production schedules and asset creation sheets using programs such as JIRA and PERFORCE. Due to the amount of assets and furniture within the game, I had to make sure that timelines we being met so they were able to put into the game. The biggest problem that this game faced was properly implementing the the movement so when the player was moving around, it wouldn’t feel awkward. This was also an issue when implementing movement with the cart. The cart helps the player carry more furniture and is useful when facing larger areas of the map. However, when using it, it felt like the player would swing around following the momentum of the front wheels.
